Abstract

Over 60% of individuals diagnosed with cancer in the UK receive radiotherapy as part of their treatment (Department of Health, 2012). Radiotherapy is highly effective, and 34-50% of prescribed radiotherapy is given with palliative intent to treat symptoms of advanced disease (Hung, 2007).
